When these are gone – they ARE gone. The National Glass Centre, housing the University of Sunderland Glass and Ceramics department, is closing July 2026. I have been making the NeckLaces and LightCatchers there since 2017. It is a short-sighted decision by the University, ignoring the centuries-old relationship between Sunderland and glass, and the international reputation of the courses.
